1925-1935
ESCHER was founded on 1 June 1925 by Anne Escher (nephew of M.C. Escher). Anne Escher was born in 1895 in Groningen, The Netherlands and graduated in 1922 as mechanical engineer of Delft Technical University.

Anne Escher started a furnace manufacturing company Ir Escher’s Ovenbouw. He specialized in mechanical gas furnaces for industrial bread backing at Leeuwendaallaan 43 in Rijswijk, The Netherlands. In due time ESCHER supplied steel products and specialised in electric arc welding. ESCHER produced the first electric welded hanging bridge in 1930 installed in The Hague, The Netherlands.

1936-1946
ESCHER went to a period of significant growth prior to World War II. By 1940 ESCHER had 250 employees. ESCHER changed into a public liability company in 1943 and was renamed Ir Escher’s Constructiewerkplaatsen en Machinefabriek.

1947-1987

In 1947 ESCHER expanded with a new workshop at the 2e Van der Kunstraat 10-14 in The Hague. During these days ESCHER became specialised in the supply of equipment for the petrochemical industry. Mr Anne Escher filed various patents of his inventions related to process equipment. On 19 June 1957 Mr Kolfschoten, major of The Hague, opened Escher Den Haag's new factory complex at the Zonweg in The Hague. Anne Escher left the company at the end of the 60's. The company continued in 3 major business lines: steel structures, process equipment and conveyor belt technology. Seamore Oil and Gas Processing (Nederland) was partnering with ESCHER for engineering and contracting of turnkey process plants for gas dehydration.

1988-2005
In 1988, ESCHER relocated to Fijnaart for improved logistics infrastructure and expansion possibilities. Escher Holland focussed on the industrial market for tailor-made and design-to-order process equipment.

ESCHER acquired Seamore in 1997 and included gas dehydration and glycol regeneration technology to its scope of supply.

Diversification to ship building by means of Escher Jachtbouw was established in Hoogezand in The Netherlands to design and build sailing yachts of the type Vanguard.

ESCHER developed to a specialised manufacturer and supplier for the process industry and industrial clients of among others pressure vessels. The company expanded and established a well-known name worldwide with an export volume of over 70 percent to more than 30 countries. In 2003 the company was restructured Escher Process Equipment following changes of shareholders.

2005-2008

In September 2005 ESCHER continued to develop its gas treatment systems with Escher Process Modules, whilst less profitable activities of pressure vessel manufacturing were divested. In 2007 new management was appointed and investments were made in Escher Process Modules. Three product lines were established: Oil & Gas Processing, Flare Systems and Specials.

Due to its expansion, the company moved in 2008 to its new offices in Papendrecht, The Netherlands. This is the center of excellence for ESCHER's management, sales, marketing, engineering and design activities taking place in a state-of-the-art office environment in the vincinity of Rotterdam.

Subsequently transferring these efficiently and effectively into conceptual design up to fabrication of process modules, including all engineering, procurement and construction acitivities. Execution of EPC services or EPC / EPIC can be managed on lumpsum turnkey basis.
