Gateway to Europe
The Port of Rotterdam is a hub of international goods flows, while at the same time an industrial complex of global stature. The port is the Gateway to a European market of more than 500 million consumers. With an annual throughput of more than 400 million tonnes of goods, Rotterdam is by far the biggest seaport in Europe and world's third biggest.
Area of Rotterdam
Rotterdam city covers a total area of 247 sqkm, half of which is occupied by the port. ESCHER’s main offices in Papendrecht is located in the vincinity of Rotterdam. This area serves industries worldwide and hosts the world’s largest concentration of refineries and chemical plants.
Transport
From the Port of Rotterdam, goods are transported by ship, river barge, train or road. The area also includes the rivers Meuse and Rhine that provide excellent access inside Europe. Furhermore, easy access to other seaports such as the Port of Antwerp in Belgium is available.
Infrastructure
The industrial infrastructure, available in the Rotterdam area, offers ESCHER the possibility to utilize high-standard subcontract companies in the direct vicinity, if required. The available capacity allows a high quality fabrication approach and has almost unlimited possibilities.
