March 2016 - As part of the “EPIC for Mitigation of Burn Pits at Dukhan” Project in Qatar, Escher delivered eight Flare Packages. In the first quarter of 2016, four of the eight Flare Packages were successfully installed on site by Escher’s Client, Petroserv Ltd. The installation of the Flare Packages was performed under the supervision of Escher, in close cooperation with the Client and End-user. In the next quarter of 2016 the remaining four Flare Packages will be installed. Thereafter, the commissioning of the first Flare Packages will take place, which will also be performed under the supervision of Escher.
The four, 18-inch Flare Packages and four, 20-inch Flare Packages each consist of a flare stack of 60 meters tall supported by a guy wired system. A purge gas reduction device, by means of a molecular seal, is installed to avoid air ingress to the flare stack. Additionally, an open pipe type flare tip with pilot burners is installed, complete with a Davit system to replace the flare tip.
