Nevesbu to present paper on FPSO Conversions at the Offshore Technology Conference

Nevesbu to present paper on FPSO Conversions at the Offshore Technology Conference December 2015 - Nevesbu will attend the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) held on 2-5 May 2016 in Houston, Texas. On 4 May, Nevesbu will present its paper, “FPSO Conversions – Fast Track & Cost Effective? Some Lessons Learnt”.

FPSO Conversions – Fast Track & Cost Effective? Some Lessons Learnt
This paper describes the lessons learned from FPSO conversion and deployment projects as well as similar engineering works for the life extension of naval surface vessels and submarines. Particular issues discussed include risks and risk allocation for major stakeholders, and program planning and reality which involves preparations and management, engineering lead time, project phasing, procurement and logistics, the difficulties of distributed engineering, and consequences of financial milestone incentives related to physical progress early in the program.

Additionally, emphasis is given to technical aspects such as the impact and importance of: primary basic data, e.g. crude oil composition, a good concept design, two-way management of engineering interfaces, cooperation between parties involved, vessel status demolition and reverse engineering, and parallel engineering by various contractors and vendors.

About the OTC
This conference enables energy professionals to meet and exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters.
